 Abstract
The biggest challenge that the oil and gas industry is facing is lowering the production costs, with the special focus on operational cost. For companies that are operating in brown field reservoirs, a major expenditure is sand control operations. The chemical consolidation is known for a low cost per operation and with a good reservoir analysis, resin-formation compatibility tests and with the exact following of the operation program, it can give remarkable results. The article presents a case study of an overbalanced perforation and chemical consolidation technology, which has the goal to minimize sand production in soft reservoir formations. This is done by restoring the bond between the formation sand grains, thus creating a stable consolidated zone near the wellbore using a synthetic resin.

 Rezumat
Cea mai mare provocare cu care se confruntă industria de petrol și gaze este reducerea costurilor de producție, cu un accent special pe costurile operaționale. Pentru companiile care operează pe zăcăminte depletate, un cost major reprezintă operațiunile de control nisip. Consolidarea chimică este cunoscută pentru costul redus pentru fiecare operațiune, cu o bună analiză a zăcământului, teste de compatibilitate rășină – formațiune, respectarea exactă a programului de operare, aceasta poate da rezultate remarcabile.
Articolul prezintă un studio de caz al unei tehnologii de perforare la supraechilibru și consolidare chimică, care are scopul de a minimiza producția de nisip din zăcămintele slab consolidate și depletate. Acest lucru se face prin restabilirea legăturii dintre granulele de nisip creând astfel o zonă bine consolidată în apropierea găurii de sondă.
