 Abstract
This paper presents a case study about the effect of preheating combustion air on fuel consumption in a furnace. The analyzed furnace has the role of reboiler at the bottom of the gasoline stabilization column in gasoline hydrofining unit. Before being distributed to the burners, the combustion air is preheated from the flue gases in an air preheater placed overhead the convection section of the furnace. In the paper are presented the results regarding the fuel savings obtained by preheating the combustion air from atmospheric temperatures range between 0 and 30 oC up to 220 oC and 250 oC, respectively.

 Rezumat
Lucrarea prezintă un studiu de caz privind efectul preîncălzirii aerului de combustie asupra consumului de combustibil, la nivelul unui cuptor tehnologic într-o instalaţie de prelucrare a petrolului. Cuptorul analizat îndeplineşte funcţia de refierbător la baza coloanei de stabilizare a benzinei din instalaţia de Hidrofinare benzină. Aerul de combustie înainte de a fi distribuit la arzătoare este preîncălzit de la gazele de ardere într-un preîncălzitor de aer aflat deasupra secției de convecție a cuptorului. În lucrare sunt prezentate rezultatele privind economia de combustibil obţinută prin preîncălzirea aerului de combustie de la temperaturi atmosferice cuprinse între 0 şi 30 °C până 220 °C, respectiv 250 °C.
